Business
HF Sinclair Corporation (NYSE: DINO) operates as an independent petroleum refiner and energy company focused on refining, renewables, marketing, lubricants and specialties, and midstream segments. The company produces and markets gasoline, diesel fuel, jet fuel, renewable diesel, specialty lubricant products under brands including Petro-Canada Lubricants and Sonneborn, specialty chemicals, base oils, process oils, greases, specialty fluids, modified asphalt, and heavy products such as asphalt and roofing tar; it also provides petroleum product and crude oil transportation, terminalling, storage, and throughput services. Light products target the Southwestern, Rocky Mountain, and mid-continent U.S. regions, heavy products serve asphalt terminals in Arizona and New Mexico, and lubricants and specialties reach more than 80 countries worldwide. Headquartered in Dallas, Texas, HF Sinclair maintains seven complex refineries across the U.S. including facilities in Anacortes WA, Artesia/Lovington NM, Casper WY, Cheyenne WY, El Dorado KS, Petrolia PA, Sinclair WY, Tulsa OK, and Woods Cross UT, plus production sites in Mississauga Canada and Amsterdam the Netherlands. Incorporated in 1947, the company employs over 5,000 people and exports products globally, with operations emphasizing integrated refining, midstream, and marketing in the petroleum industry. Recent strategic developments include the evaluation of a multi-phased pipeline expansion announced in October 2025 to boost refined products supply to western U.S. markets such as Nevada and California by up to 150,000 barrels per day, featuring enhancements to the Pioneer Pipeline with Phillips 66, UNEV Pipeline, Medicine Bow Pipeline, and a new lateral to Reno NV, with the first phase targeting 35,000 barrels per day online by 2028. Prior moves encompass the 2023 completion of the acquisition of Holly Energy Partners L.P. and integration of Sinclair Oil brands following the establishment of HF Sinclair as parent company. These initiatives underscore efforts to optimize value chain integration and address regional supply imbalances amid West Coast refinery closures.
